More than 70 participants filled the chapel of Seminari Theoloji Malaysia for the recently concluded 3rd Biblical Studies Seminar on 7th March 2016. Based on the theme "The Bible and Wealth and Poverty", a total of 3 papers with responses were offered. Drawing insights from the Old Testament, New Testament, and Sociological perspectives, the presenters and respondents guided the participants in exploring how the Scriptures deal with wealth and poverty and how this should be concretely applied in the Malaysian context. Much data and statistics were presented, highlighting the widening gap between the rich and the poor in the nation, and the church should be challenged in reaching out to those who are less fortunate.
