The evening began with Rev Dr Ezra Kok taking us through the historical development of NPP. This was followed by my lecture on some of the controversies, misunderstanding and implications of NPP in reading Paul and also for the church today. Dr Tan Kang San then wrapped up the evening by sharing the implication of NPP for doing contextual theology and missions today. We also opened up to the floor to raise any questions for clarifications. While not all the panelists agree with NPP, we hope that we had, in some ways, demonstrated how to have meaningful dialogue and conversations with mutual respect and listening to one another.
A real bonus for the evening was the surprise visit by Prof Lo Lung Kwong from Hong Kong, who did his PhD under James Dunn.
